Systems of Sustainable Consumption and Production (SSCP) Systems of Sustainable Consumption and Production (SSCP)Working Groups

Given the Earth’s limited resources and resilience, the current global development model—based on the continuous extraction of natural resources and human-driven development—is unsustainable. To accommodate global population growth and rising consumption levels while promoting the well-being of all people in a just and equitable manner on a planet with finite resources, a fundamental restructuring of production, distribution, and consumption systems is essential.

The Working Group on Systems of Sustainable Consumption and Production (SSCP) aims to promote equity, reduce inequalities in access to resources, and enable all people to lead prosperous lives within biophysical limits.
