Future Earth is a global network of scientists, researchers, and innovators dedicated to providing and supporting the knowledge needed for sustainable transformation. It is committed to accelerating the global transition to sustainable development through research and innovation, and to collaborating to build a more sustainable Earth.

Future Earth brings together researchers and scholars from around the world across various societal sectors and disciplines in the natural, social, and human sciences. Future Earth initiates and supports international collaboration among these researchers and stakeholders to identify and generate the integrated knowledge needed for a successful societal transition, thereby enabling a good and equitable life for all within the Earth system. Future Earth employs rigorous interdisciplinary research and systems thinking approaches in its work, combining basic and applied research to generate actionable, solution-oriented knowledge that informs and guides decision-making for policymakers and practitioners at all levels of governance. The current Future Earth architecture is illustrated in the figure below.
